Is it possible to put a 12 string neck on a stratocaster?

I have a Peavey Raptor bootleg strat, and I noticed that on strats you can take the neck off. I was wondering if it would be possible to get a 12 string neck and put it on my stratocaster. Would it work. Would the pickups work with 12 strings? Would I have to modify anything? I know Fender once made the Stratocaster XII, but I think it would be cool to make my own. Where would I even buy a 12 string neck? I do plan on buying a 50th Anniversary SG 12 string sometime soon.
